Case Study 2
Overview
Tasked with creative direction and all media production for public figure, Jimmy Seibert, to effectively navigate the digital space and exponentially increase his and associated organization’s reach and influence.
Jimmy Seibert is a pastor, author, leader and international speaker. He and his wife Laura have a life-long commitment to family and the Great Commission being fulfilled in their lifetime. They and a group of friends founded Antioch Ministries International in 1987 and Antioch Community Church in 1999. Over the last 30 years Jimmy and Laura have expanded a small gathering into an international movement of churches that train and send men and women around the world spreading the life-saving message of Jesus.
All creative direction, podcast production, graphic design, photography, videography and social media management were created by me.
Approach
With a larger than life opportunity presented before myself I approached the idea of communicating on behalf of Mr. Seibert in way that was genuine and authentic, yet at the same time fully utilizing social media and current best practices online to meet his goals of reaching and influencing people. The dilemma was pioneering a media-arm of an organization that otherwise has purposefully remained out of the spotlight for the last 30 years. The organization and it’s community has thrived and expanded internationally because of it’s humble and non-attention seeking approach. To accomplish the goal would simply be to “go against the grain”.
How do we authentically communicate through media and various channels the vision, message and lifestyle of the founder of a church movement? This question took us on a journey over the last 4 years of not just displaying the public life of Mr. Seibert, but also the private and “in between” moments to truly allow people into his world and the way he lives. We accomplished this together by saying that no area of Mr. Seibert’s life was too small or off limits, but just a matter of showing up and finding a way to document moments of his life. Mr. Seibert gave an all access pass to himself. The level that we could display his life in an realistic, non-fabricated way was equally proportionate to me (or a crew and myself) showing up ready with “camera in hand” mentality.
